You Will

The Human Resource Generalist serves as a Business Partner to operational counterparts while directly guiding team members and other members of leadership within one of our distribution centers located in Roanoke, Texas.  Reporting directly to the Regional Human Resource Manager, the HR Generalist is responsible for strategic planning and "hands-on" management of human resource issues within the team member population.  Primary functions of this position include recruiting/staffing, communications planning, training and assisting in developing policies and programs that supports and fosters a safe, employee engaged positive workplace.  


Must be available to support all operating shifts directly or indirectly where required. Shift schedule will be Monday - Thursday 2pm to 12am, Friday 12pm to 5pm


  • Facilitation of critical organizational initiatives as well as implementing process improvements within Human Resources and across the Distribution Center.
  • Handles all on going recruitment , selection process and strategies, including workforce planning, temporary workforce, recruitment events, new hire orientation and on-boarding.
  • Works with Human Resources partners to implement Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs, which support the overall business strategy.   Train and educate business partners on these policies, programs and procedures.
  • Identifies ways to streamline resources to provide efficient structure to the organization
  • Ensures compliance with Federal and State legislation related to all human resources matters.
  • Fosters effective relationships with external vendors to administer effective employee programs.
  • Assist in the implementation and administration a robust communications plan.
  • Assist with administration of workers compensation program for the facility.

You Have

  • BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in related field preferred.
  • A degree in Human Resources, related field or equivalent progressive experience.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resource practices with expertise in staffing, new hire orientation and on-boarding.      
  • Demonstrated experience in providing proactive solutions to human resource issues.     
  • Exercise good judgment in dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose problems, develops alternative solutions, and recommend and implement an effective course of action.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships both within and outside the organization.  
  • Communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings, and foster an open, honest and trusting environment, concisely, both in writing and verbally, and to actively listen while gathering information. 
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work.
  • Proficiency in systems, Excel, Word, Publisher and PowerPoint.
  • Effective verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
