The Pride Business Resource Group (BRG) is one of nine communities at Grainger that advance our welcoming culture to ensure all team members feel a sense of belonging. The Pride BRG represents and advocates for all LGBTQ+ employees and allies at Grainger and connects them to the broader community through advocacy and outreach.
By developing educational resources and producing events, such as BeBrave conversations featuring LGBTQ+ educators and leaders, the Pride BRG strengthens Grainger’s culture. Recently, the Pride BRG has promoted personal pronoun education and usage across Grainger and has led a campaign encouraging team members to voluntarily self-identify to help us better understand our team members and mitigate potential bias.
The Pride BRG also engages LGBTQ+ team members and their allies through several fun and celebratory events throughout the year, including participation in local Pride parades, hosting lunch and learns and film club discussions and volunteering with local non-profit organizations.

Through long-standing partnerships with LGBTQ+ affirming organizations, such as Howard Brown Health, the Grainger team volunteers time and donates funding to support local communities.
Grainger promotes inclusivity through educational opportunities for team members across topics like the gender spectrum, personal pronoun usage and ways people can help create a sense of belonging. We drive meaningful change through intentional relationships with organizations, like Out & Equal, that provide resources and training to help create a culture of belonging for LGBTQ+ people at work.
We keep the world working with a workforce that's as diverse as the communities we serve.
We are proud to maintain strong partnerships with LGBTQ+ professional organizations to deepen our connection with diverse talent.
For the 8th year in a row, Grainger has received a 100% score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index, the leading assessment of workplace policies and practices that support LGBTQ+ employees in the U.S.
To achieve a perfect score, companies must provide equal benefits for LGBTQ+ team members and their families, have nondiscrimination policies that include both sexual orientation and gender identity and foster an inclusive culture.
Grainger offers equal benefits for spouses and domestic partners, including medical, adoption assistance and gender transition support.
Director, DC Operations
As a VERY proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and a VERY proud member of #TeamGrainger for 19 years and counting, I often reflect on my journey. Grainger and our team members have been my work family, and I am so grateful for my ability to be “me” every single day. From day one, I've shown up to work as my authentic self. I don’t take that for granted and find it extremely important to do my part to continue strengthening our culture and team member experience.

If there ever was a company that invests in its people, it’s Grainger! In my years with Grainger, I’ve not only gotten to work with very smart people and grow through a strong professional development culture, but I’ve also been able to do it while bringing my whole self to work. As an openly gay man and and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, I’m proud to work at a company that embraces how identities are diverse and unique and visibly supports its LGBTQ+ team members from the top down.
