Position Details:

As a Lead Network Security Engineer, you will protect Grainger information assets by implementing advanced network security tools, automating, integrating Grainger network security tools and processes, and collaborating across the Information Security and IT organizations including making smart long-term decisions.  You have expert knowledge of Network Security concepts (SSE) and Firewalls (Palo Alto is preferred)

You will report to the Senior Manager of Information Security Engineering.

 

Pay:

This position is salaried and will pay between $126990- $195,330 with a target bonus of 15%.

You Will:

  • Understanding of network security engineering and architecture design, network protocols, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Translate security requirements into firewall design. 
  • Identify operational, performance, and capacity issues. 
  • Logs, network traces, with a understanding of application flows
  • Senior level knowledge of Network Firewalls (Palo Alto is preferred)
  • Experience with network security tools and concepts in a cloud environment (AWS preferred)
  • Senior level knowledge deploying and managing SSE technologies (Zscaler, ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX preferred)
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (Python, Ansible, or Terraform is preferred)
  • Lead the installation, configuration, and integration of network security technologies including SSE & Firewalls. 
  • Lead the network security team in operational and policy decisions around Firewall and SSE technologies
  • Identify operational issues and opportunities for improvement within the network security domain in addition to partnering with internal and external stakeholders
  • Build capacity planning and trending capabilities to scale within the network security domain

 

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing Network Firewalls and SSE technologies
  • 7+ years required of combined IT and Information Security work experience with a broad exposure to Infrastructure & Networks within multi-platform and cloud environments
  • Experience automating Network Security solutions
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology
