This role contributes to the development of key metrics, dashboards, databases, and tools used to inform and execute business decisions across the core growth drivers for the Grainger Business Unit.

 

You Will:

 

The Reporting & Analytics team impacts a broad range of the Grainger Business Unit through:

  • Field reporting for sales and onsite services team members and leadership including financial performance drivers, performance to goal/compensation, planning and initiative guidance, and execution metrics.
  • Customer reporting including partnership with sales and services leaders to design and build critical customer facing analytical resources and close partnership with Grainger Technology Group Customer Insights product team.
  • Development of foundational analytics tools for operational excellence across critical support functions and Grainger Business Unit operations.
  • Initiative monitoring for consistently and systematically assessing leading indicators of performance for execution to objectives and data-driven planning.

 

Collaborates with team members across the enterprise to advance, adopt, and share best practices. Engages with Sr. Managers and Directors in providing analysis and reporting to influence both tactical and strategic decisions for the organization.

  • Produces timely and accurate reports for internal and external business partners and customers for their use in making informed decisions
  • Works with department leadership and peers to support improvement initiatives and/or system development efforts
  • Collaborates with end-users to answer questions and provide additional insight about specific reports at the appropriate level of detail
  • Effectively correlates multiple metrics and structures data to develop and share a complete story of analysis and results
  • Responsible for daily maintenance of existing reports to ensure all the information is producing the intended results
  • Responsible for fixing any internal reports that are not running properly.
  • Simplify, enhance, and engineer basic reporting processes
  • Demonstrate ability to leverage both business acumen and technical skills to deliver results
  • Demonstrated general understanding of key business strategies and how tools and reports support them
  • Provides analysis to identify trends, operational issues and exceptions to drive improvement in operations and customer experience

 

 

You Have: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, primarily in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SQL, Business Intelligence (Power BI, SAP Business Objects, Tableau), Snowflake, Teradata and/or other database/reporting tools is required 
  • Strong analytical and reporting background a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment.and handle individual projects 
  • Self-directed with accountability to make sound business decisions while demonstrating effective time-management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, and accuracy and thoroughness in work

 

Work Environment

 

Physical demands encompass typical day-to-day job functions of a traditional office environment.

This is a hybrid role (3 days in office)
