Position Description

Primary Function
Utilizing manual and mechanized techniques, this position aids in the processing of customer payments in a timely and accurate manner, including opening and prepping checks and related documents containing payments detail and correspondence.  Additionally, this position aids in processing non-payment transactions including all incoming Accounts Payable invoices and correspondence.  The Cash Processing Administrator 2 position also processes incoming EFT/EDI payments, applications, and cross-reference information.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
• Process customer remittance mail:

o Open payment mail on OPEX mail extraction machines.
o Sort payments into correct batch types.
o Perform second sort on payments that need additional processing.
o Distribute non-financial documentation to appropriate internal departments.

• Process non-payments transactions:

o Open AP mail on Opex mail extraction machines.
o Sort AP transactions into correct batch types.
o Perform additional processing such as vendor lookup.

• Process EFT/EDI transactions:

o Process EFT/EDI payments
o Process ACH applications
o Process customer cross-reference tables for improved payments application.

• Process Returned Mail and Change of Address requests.
• Track and maintain daily time logs.

o Meet and maintain performance standards.
o Improve performance standards over time.

• Prep batches for capture.
• Audit unprocessed paperwork to ensure controls are met.
• Data entry of customer payment information will be performed on an as-needed bases to assist with volume fluctuations and as part of Business Continuity planning.

Work Environment
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, Saturdays are required 2-4 times per year.
• Early morning start times are required, as early as 5:00AM.
• Must be able to stay late or work overtime as requested.
• The work requires repetitive arm, hand, and finger movements.
• The work requires sitting at a mail extraction machine or desk for lengthy periods of time.
• Moving mail trays will require light lifting (less than 10lbs).
• Heavy volume days require the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• The work requires PC interaction for lengthy periods of time.

Working Relationships
• Interacts with other Cash Processing team members.
• Interacts with Accounts Receivable.
• Interacts with Accounts Payable departments.

Position Requirements:
