Position Details:

 

Responsible for management of network projects with the primary focus being on the execution/implementation of the capital spend, construction, commissioning, and stabilization. Directly responsible for projects valued up to $30M and assisting on $100M+ projects, that support Distribution Center (DC) operations, using analytics and working knowledge of DC operations.  Results of this role are to deliver on the team’s mission to support the Distribution Operation’s commitment to the customer by aligning distribution capacity to customer demand.

 

You will report to the Sr. Manager, Automation & Robotics- Implementation. This role is based in Lake Forest, IL or any of the US Distribution Centers. 

 

The salary range for this position is $85,680 to $131,580 and this role is bonus eligible.  **This range provided is a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation.  Other factors that are involved in offer decisions include and not limited to:  Candidate experience, qualification, geographical area and internal equity of the team.

 

Travel: Up to 70% travel to other Distribution Centers and field locations.  International travel may be required depending on project responsibilities. Ability to work non-standard work hours to support project execution (weekends, 2nd & 3rd shift)

 

You Will:

 

  • Manage short- and long-term work related to the execution of on-site project goals.
  • Manage the expectations and performance of outside vendors/contractors.  Ensuring accountability of execution to the plan and milestones.
  • Manage all aspects of a DC expansion or retro-fit project including implementation, capital approval, construction, commissioning, stabilization and delivery of project operational commitments (stable, sustainable by the local team, storage capacity, throughput, productivity, quality and uptime)·    
  • Provide ongoing project status updates with all levels of the organization throughout implementation, including enterprise systems, storage and throughput engineering, systems and technology, network strategy, real estate, inventory planning, transportation, and others.
  • Identify and define complex problems and opportunities and make recommendations for solutions.
  • Lead a team to assemble and analyze data to support improving DC product flows, storage space utilization and throughput capacity.  Use data to make decisions on project deliverables.

 

You Have:

 

  • BA/BS or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in conveyance, controls, and automation support.  Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, break fix, and support.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement (CI) methods
  • Demonstrated ability to help develop project plans and budgets, including forecasts of material, equipment and manpower.
  • Familiarity with various types of material handling structures/equipment.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Project/Smart sheets is preferred.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems in high-volume distribution center, AutoCAD, MS Visio and MS Access is preferred.
