Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $134,100.00$223,500.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to 20 % or $ , based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

Position Details

The Senior Manager, Digital & Mid-Sized Customers leads strategic workstreams that support Grainger's digital-first and mid-sized customer growth priorities, with focus on digital experience, customer offer development, growth planning, performance management, and cross-functional execution. This role develops insights from customer, digital, market, competitive, operational, and financial data to identify growth opportunities and inform recommendations. The Senior Manager partners across functions to translate strategy into workplans, test-and-learn initiatives, business cases, and execution plans that improve customer acquisition, retention, revenue growth, margin, and profitability.
 
This is a hybrid position that is based onsite in Lake Forest or Chicago 3 days a week.
 
You will report to the Vice President, Digital & Mid-Sized Customers.

You Will
  • Lead strategic workstreams that support the Digital & Mid-Sized Customers roadmap, including opportunity sizing, customer insight development, offer design, and execution planning.
  • Translate growth priorities into workplans, execution strategies, milestones, business requirements, test plans, and performance measures.
  • Lead analysis of customer behavior, digital engagement, sales performance, market dynamics, competitive activity, and financial results to develop recommendations and identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Technology, Supply Chain, Finance, Analytics, and other teams to advance cross-functional initiatives, align execution plans, and resolve operational barriers.
  • Build leadership materials, business cases, performance updates, and recommendations that clarify tradeoffs and support decision-making.
  • Lead test-and-learn efforts with Analytics and functional teams, including hypothesis development, measurement design, performance tracking, and scale recommendations.
  • Monitor performance against key customer and business metrics; identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coach team members or project contributors by setting clear expectations and improving analytical rigor, storytelling, stakeholder influence and execution effectiveness.
 
You Have
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in customer strategy, digital strategy, growth strategy, go-to-market strategy, commercial strategy, corporate strategy, consulting, analytics, or transformation work. required
  • Experience translating customer, digital, market, and financial insights into strategic recommendations and executable plans.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience developing business cases, leadership presentations, performance updates, and recommendations that support decision-making and prioritization for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience structuring business problems with multiple variables, developing analytical workplans, leading projects to defined outcomes, and translating findings into recommendations for stakeholders and leadership audiences.
