Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $103,600.00 – $172,600.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to 15% or $, based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

Position Details
The Manager, Safety & Security Programs and Training is responsible for developing, governing, implementing, and continuously improving enterprise Safety & Security programs, standards, policies, training, and management system elements across Grainger's North American operations. This role ensures enterprise programs remain compliant, scalable, operationally effective, and consistently implemented across all regions.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Corporate Safety & Security, the role serves as a key member of the Enterprise Center of Excellence, partnering closely with regional leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to develop enterprise programs, strengthen organizational capability, and promote consistent operational execution.
You will be located at our corporate HQ in Lake Forest, IL 3 days per week in office.

You Will
- Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve enterprise Safety & Security programs, procedures, management system documentation, and implementation resources within established functional strategy, standards, and compliance requirements to support consistent execution across regions.
- Lead administration and continuous improvement of the Safety & Security management system, including document control, program lifecycle processes, records retention, implementation guidance, and knowledge management resources.
- Lead development, administration, and continuous improvement of Safety & Security learning, competency, communication, and awareness programs, including training governance, curriculum, role-based learning, Learning Management System administration, compliance reporting, user support, and change-management resources.
- Develop and maintain contractor safety requirements, contractor qualification processes, compliance expectations, and contractor management platforms, including ISNetworld and Avetta, consistent with established Safety & Security standards and compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain risk-assessment tools, templates, procedures, and emergency-preparedness resources that support hazard identification, risk evaluation, organizational readiness, and consistent implementation of established enterprise requirements.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through benchmarking, operational feedback, audits, and performance reviews; recommend and implement improvements; partner with the Enterprise Data & Analytics Manager to align programs, learning systems, reporting, and performance metrics; and provide technical guidance and implementation support to regional Safety & Security professionals while leading assigned enterprise initiatives and special projects.
- Coach and support regional Safety & Security professionals by providing technical guidance, training
resources, subject matter expertise, and implementation support, while leading enterprise initiatives and
special projects assigned by the Senior Manager, Safety & Security Governance.
You Have
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Business, Education, Organizational Development, or a related discipline required
- 5+ years of progressive Environmental Health & Safety, Security, Learning & Development, Program Management, or related experience in a multi-site distribution, manufacturing, retail, or industrial environment required
- None Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing enterprise programs, policies, standards, procedures, management systems, and cross-functional initiatives preferred
- None Experience developing enterprise training programs, governance processes, learning content, organizational capability initiatives, and administering Learning Management Systems (LMS). preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, environmental, occupational safety, and related regulatory requirements sufficient to develop and implement Safety & Security programs and supporting resources.
- Experience developing, implementing, and continuously improving programs, procedures, management system resources, risk-assessment tools, and compliance processes in complex multi-site environments.
- Experience developing and administering learning and competency programs, Learning Management Systems, compliance reporting, contractor management platforms, or related enterprise systems.
- Experience partnering across Operations, Human Resources, Engineering, Legal, Supply Chain, Security, and other business functions to lead complex initiatives, provide technical guidance, resolve program issues, and support consistent implementation.
