Infrastructure Engineers ensure that the IT infrastructure is sufficiently robust, scalable, and efficient to deliver the integrated services underlying the physical environment that supports the processes, physical resources, and operators required for developing, integrating, operating, and sustaining IT applications and support services.  They build, test, implement, configure, tune and support the IT infrastructure in the cloud and on-premise, to include the server platforms, storage systems, middleware infrastructure, network and client technologies.  They pursue the physical design, implementation, and support of major automation solutions in a multiplatform environment, make recommendations for improvements to the usability of automated tools, and identify opportunities for increased adoption of orchestration technologies.

 

POSITION DETAILS:

 

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in WinOS and some experience with macOS and mobile device management, that will focus on building out and improving capabilities for our enterprise users. This role is part of a team of Endpoint Infrastructure Engineers and Business Analysts. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in understanding business priorities (e.g., vision), trends (e.g., industry knowledge) and markets (e.g., existing/ planned) with a strong engineering background in end-user technologies. This role will have a heavy emphasis in supply chain endpoint technology.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Build, configure and maintain hybrid IT systems: Installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems. Assist with integrating services across Cloud and data center. Contributes to the prioritization of requirements and matching of resources with requirements.
  • Automation: Assists in designing automated workflows and provides training to other engineers. Assists with business case justification for automation efforts. Establishes frameworks to optimize automation & CI/CD deployment activities. Supports DevOps activities.
  • Scripting: Creates and maintains complex scripts to automate repetitive tasks and support automated workflows
  • Configuration management: Establish baselines and configuration control. Reviews CMDB and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Infrastructure standards and practices: Reviews and enforces standards and practices for infrastructure solutions. Assists in creating new ways of solving existing issues and improving existing practices.
  • Monitoring: Develops SLAs and defines alert thresholds.
  • Documentation: Documents new or modified infrastructure solutions, test activities/results, and workflows.
  • Process Improvement: Ability to simplify & standardize complex concepts / processes.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 5+ years of in-depth advanced experience with Windows 10 OS.
  • Endpoint Management Systems Configuration and support
  • Must be self-motivated with strong team, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, debugging/resolution skills, and the ability to think algorithmically.
  • Solid understanding of mission-critical production environments, including the requirement for high availability and team-oriented 24x7 support capabilities.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in an Agile environment.
  • Must be able to function with a high degree of autonomy, generally requiring little or no guidance
  • Focus on continuous process improvement and high level of quality control.
