Position Description:
Zoro’s recommendations team, part of the Search and Recommendations Product Management Group, delivers the platform and core experience connecting Zoro customers with everything needed to run their business.  As the Recommendations Product manager you’ll be working with engineers, data scientists, analysts, partner product managers, and more to design and deliver a system that supports helping people find what they need across the entire Zoro customer journey. You’ll have an opportunity to solve customer and platform problems from the ground up while scaling the platform to any surface where customers may be.  You’ll have a knack for translating statistics into human stories and connecting those insights into goals for systems to return the items people need. 


You will:

  • Own business outcomes related to helping shoppers on Zoro find what they’re looking for through recommendations.
  • Own the roadmap for our recommendations platform.
  • Identify, define, prioritize, and test hypotheses that help improve the value of the recommendations platform to the audiences it serves.
  • Work across the entire company to understand and prioritize opportunities to implement existing solutions or create new ones.
  • Track, understand, and improve the effectiveness, reliability, and velocity of recommendations through our systems.
  • Own recommendations-related outcomes and develop measurable and achievable goals.

What you’ll want to have

  • 5+ Years of experience in product management, data science, engineering, or analysis.
  • A technical background showing an understanding of how recommendation systems work (without necessarily having  designed one before, but bonus if you have).
  • The understanding of how and when to use online testing, user interviews, or any other methods for identifying and validating opportunities and reducing risks of development
  • Familiarity with a/b testing. 
  • Experience with creating or interpreting raw analytics and complex analysis. 
  • Looked at and have an opinion on something about it.
