Primary Function:


Sr. Merchandising Analysts will serve as the go to person for any merchandising related insights to inform our Endless aisle strategies, from PLE to pricing, navigation, product recommendations, promotions and more. This is accomplished by applying a unique blend of skills including data mining, analytical programming, process design, and creative problem solving. Top candidates demonstrate past experience creating new tools and models that can be used across the organization.


Merchandising Analysts are expected to work collaboratively across Zoro departments including Category Management, Product, Finance, Marketing, Pricing and many others. A successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to understand Merchandising and Zoro’s unique business objectives and help bridge the gap to achieve Zoro’s mission. 


Duties and Responsibilities: 


  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports

  • Assist in analytic projects that uncover actionable customer insights to guide short-term and

              long-term efforts on customer acquisition and retention

  • Conduct statistical analyses / forecasting & developing predictive models and response models to come up with actionable and strategic insights from data.

  • Conduct Market Research and market intelligence reporting to inform Zoro on market changes and patterns.

  • Understanding and researching on what fundamentally drives success at Zoro and partnering cross functionally to test and learn

  • Using data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns

  • Perform financial analysis of anticipated pricing actions for various scenarios

  • Use strong communication skills to present findings and build support for pricing initiatives




  • A Bachelor’s degree is required in related fields such as Mathematics, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Statistics

  • 3-5 years’ of proven experience in Customer Insights, Market Insights, Pricing Analytics or equivalent experience

  • Proficiency with SQL , R and/or Python is a must 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

  • Proven history of applying problem solving skills when working with limited data & resources
