Primary Function:
The Sr. Manager, Digital Merchandising is responsible for the creation and execution of Zoro’s strategic category investments. As the digital leader of our most promising segments in our 7Mil product assortment, they will develop a strategy that delivers intuitive navigation, category growth and in turn, create a differentiated B2B customer experience. They will be a key stakeholder across the business, collaborating with product merchandising, product information, digital product management & analytics to capitalize on product line expansion and lead a compelling navigational vision for the future.

 

As the Sr. Manager, you will lead a team of 8-10 digital merchandising managers and analysts to collectively improve the customer experience through multiple tactics including but not limited to taxonomy, navigational features, product information enrichment and traffic drivers.

 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a competitive B2B category strategy that capitalizes on product application nuances, machine learning and technology investments
  • Determine business investment and customer value creation for identified segments of assortment
  • Work cross-functionally to build navigation enabled roadmaps & execute across, Digital Product Management, Product Information, Product Merchandising, Marketing and Supply Chain
  • Harness customer data, web analytics, and insights to optimize and bring to life an end-to-end digital navigation experience
  • Align cross-functionally on clear objectives & key results (OKRs), secure resources, drive focus and remove blockers to achieve those key results
  • Recruit, coach and retain smart, curious, digitally savvy team of individual contributors
  • Create & sustain a healthy, safe team culture that learns, fails fast & wins together
  • Develop & execute a strategic communication plans that provides cross-functional teams line of sight to execution timelines, implications and overall context into business strategy
  • Oversee and support strategic digital merchandising vision that delivers against ever-expanding product assortment
     

Qualifications:
This role is uniquely positioned to influence and drive meaningful progress across the entire customer experience, spanning multiple functional areas and skill sets. The ideal Sr. Manager may not have all of the below qualifications but should be a quick learner, intellectually curious and technically inclined.

  • 8-10 years eCommerce experience
  • 5-7 years digital merchandising and search experience, B2B preferred
  • 5 years experience leading people
  • 3-5 years experience in industrial supply or MRO space preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
  • Proven success record in leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Demonstrated Strategic Orientation; ability to anticipate and articulate future business needs and respond with the scalable strategies
  • Strong Talent Builder skills; proven ability to motivate, lead, empower, and influence others
  • Ability to lead and guide a team through change
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, works well as part of a cross-functional team with the ability to collaborate, influence, and interact at all levels of the organization
