Primary Function:

 

The Sr. Manager of Product Information will lead the team and go-to-market product information strategy for publishing and maintaining millions of products a year, supporting Zoro’s endless B2B assortment. This cross-functional role will balance authoring speed and customer experience all the while building sustainable operational processes across multi-disciplinary teams. This seasoned leader should have a demonstrated track record of building and successfully growing product information operations at the enterprise level.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and execute a product authoring strategy that efficiently authors millions of products while maintaining data integrity and meeting our customer's needs

  • Grow and lead a team of 10+ curious specialists and managers that efficiently operate and consistently achieve business goals. Also manage an offshore team ensuring velocity and quality goals are being met

  • Partner to evolve master data management practices based upon strategic business objectives, existing capabilities, and a general understanding of emerging technologies across the data systems

  • Ensure disciplined, data-driven, well-documented approaches to improving end-to-end operational performance

  • Build and embed scalable operational processes that balance rigor with agility

  • Work cross-functionally to establish supplier and data flow strategies

  • Align cross-functionally on clear objectives & key results (OKRs), secure resources, drive focus and remove blockers to achieve those key results

  • Assist in the development of product information audit processes to improve content accuracy and consistency

  • Establish and maintain team budget and provide monthly insights into core team metrics

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 8-10  years in product information management functions

  • 5+ years experience leading people

  • 3-5 years experience in large assortment eCommerce preferred 

  • Lean Six Sigma certification a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus

  • Demonstrable experience working across business functions and units (i.e. Product Management, Product Information, Engineering, Training, etc.) including remote associates and international third-party teams.

  • Demonstrated Strategic Orientation; ability to anticipate and articulate future business needs and respond with the scalable strategies

  • Strong Talent Builder skills; proven ability to motivate, lead, empower, and influence others

  • Ability to lead and guide a team through change

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, works well as part of a cross-functional team with the ability to collaborate, influence, and interact at all levels of the organization
