Position Details:

You will manage and perform supplier relationship management for multi-million dollar strategic important plans usually with global scope. You will influence selection, approval and prioritization of Grainger large-scale investments in vendor partners, working within the Enterprise Systems Vendor Management function. You will manage the ES strategic and main vendor portfolio, provide enterprise wide metrics and analytics. You will provide top level governance over technology service and goods providers and manages the strategic relationship.

 

You will support the global development of capabilities for ES vendor relationship management. You will assure the quality, consistency and quantifiable results for the ES vendor relationship services. You will report to the Director, IT Vendor Management.

 

 

You Will:
 

  • Manage vendor relationship management services.
  • Influence near and long term strategic and important vendor investment decisions. Partner with functional leads across organization to assure cohesive integrated strategic partnerships. Influence ES strategic vendor investment recommendations.
  • Develop a set of practices, processes, templates and reporting for working with vendors and driving targeted results.
  • Aggregate vendor data and communicate vendor performance. Prepare analytics, including savings, business case performance, compliance, performance scorecards and benchmarking for main suppliers / services.
  • Work with vendor / functional leaders to establish services and develop / implement appropriate Service Level Agreements to lead desired behavior.
  • Track and assess vendor performance and work with vendor / functional leaders to establish improvement plans to improve services. Goal to increase service level performance, improve customer satisfaction scores and reduce costs.
  • Make recommendations regarding the strategic vendor portfolio and for preparing strategic vendor reports / main topics / risks to be reviewed with Leadership.
  • Identify and guide rationalization of redundancies across the vendor portfolio.
  • Develop spend options that result in cost avoidance or cost savings to achieve best financial outcomes.
  • Develop processes to use vendor relationships to support innovation driving strategic advantage.
  • Support Budget and Long-Range Forecast activities around strategic and important vendors.
  • Facilitate partnership and strategic relationships between current and potential strategic suppliers and Grainger partners.
  • Improve adoption of vendor relationship management best practices across business and vendors.
  • Build relationships with senior management teams across the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with important developments in the industry and among competitors.
  • Develop relationships with a network of suppliers of ES labor that provide immediate access to required skills that support plan, build and run activities.
  • Use off shore resources to maximize spend and achieve or exceed targeted service levels. Identify new opportunity areas that would benefit.
  • Use strategic vendor relationships driving contract compliance, quality of service, continuous improvement and investments.
  • Escalate issues to guide resolution for issues regarding supplier performance. includes understanding entitlements based on vendor contract language, monitoring software usage through Software Asset Management tools
  • Understand technology contracts clauses and metrics and interpreting product use rights, grants and limits and ensure they are correctly reflected and maintained in the SAM solution.
  • Communicate license positions and risk to partners across levels and organizations.
  • Challenge vendor claims during an audit and assist with audit resolution.

You Have:

 

  • Professional experience with global sourcing, vendor management, offshoring.
  • A history of building business relationships at multiple levels.
  • Leadership experience directing the provision of IT application and operation services; coaching and leading teams.
  • Experience dealing with and managing suppliers of IT products, services and labor.
  • Knowledge of purchasing regulations and laws.
  • Experience managing virtual, distributed, international teams.
  • Working knowledge of SAP in a complex multi-channel distribution environment.
  • Influencing and negotiating skills
  • Experience working with IT product, service and labor sources on a global basis.
  • Experience using 3rd party vendors to maximize value from their capabilities and developing strategic partner ecosystem.
  • Experience with Business Process Improvement.
