Position Details:

Responsibilities will include direct and regular interface with the Senior Sales Leadership Team, Field and other functional Leaders to identify and drive highly impactful compensation and goal setting programs. You will report to the Senior Director, Compensation.  

Location:  any virtual US location

 

You Will:

Lead a team in the design, development, delivery and stewardship of performance, analytics and compensation strategies and programs designed to improve the productivity and effectiveness of the Sales Organization. Hire, train, and lead a team members who are responsible for the following activities:

  • Compensation Systems & Plans – Design, develop and deploy compensation plans and supporting systems; build 3-5 year plans for compensation design, incorporating a deep understanding of the company's go-to-market strategy and how to effectively use compensation as a growth and profitability lever for the Business; work collaboratively with Finance and HR to ensure plans are delivering maximum impact to the business
  • Goal Setting – Deliver meaningful, relevant goals for all Sales and Sales Leadership roles; ensure goal setting is accomplished with consistency and following Grainger's core values and business objectives

Rewards & Recognition – Lead the design, development and deployment of rewards and recognition systems for all Sales and Sales Leadership roles; maintain deep understanding of behavioral economics and how to systematically apply techniques that allow the organization to more fully benefit from both extrinsic and intrinsic Team Member motivators; leverage programs and systems to drive high levels of Team Member engagement and increased discretionary effort

 

You Have:

Previous Experiences must include:

  • Led or designed global sales incentive programs, developing communication collateral, building a diverse array of compensation programs, implementing automated platforms, and workforce/budget planning.
  • Set sales compensation strategy, organization design, reducing turnover, and rewarding top performing talent.
  • Led and administer sales compensation programs
  • Knowledge of rewards and recognition strategy
  • Experience analyzing financial drivers of performance and incentive plan effectiveness

Role Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant leadership experience, including prior experience in compensation, sales compensation, rewards and recognition, sales quotas, finance and/or analytics
  • Experience with developing motivated teams and delivering results through others
  • Demonstrated change leader; understand trends for future needs and steps necessary to lead change
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies and applications
  • College degree required
