Job Summary:

The Grainger Business Unit Sales accelerator program is designed to provide recent college graduates or early in career aspirants a broad and well-rounded learning experience.

The program consists of an embarkation and challenging rotational assignments and experiences within the Sales & Services function. The rotations provide the opportunity to work in various facets of the sales organization, gain in depth knowledge of the business and develop relationships with senior leaders at every juncture. Each rotation will provide a different and intentional set of developmental opportunities. The rotations can include but are not limited to: Inside Sales, Field Sales and project work within Sales Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, and/or Supplier Management. The duration of this program is approximately 12 months.

Primary Program Locations: Lake Forest, IL, San Antonio, TX

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to build effective relationships with customers

  • Intermediate level of computer skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to resolve conflict

Required Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university working towards a bachelor’s degree or have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in business, management, and/or communications preferred
  • Expected graduation between December 2020 and June 2021
  • Financial acumen with demonstrated intellectual and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Strong communication/presentation skills – oral, written, and active listening
  • High integrity in all business dealings
  • Strong time management, planning / prioritizing and organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven ability to enhance business knowledge or leadership skills through internships, on-campus involvement
  • Relevant work experience in customer services or sales

 

Job Requirements:

  • This role may include travel (up to 25%)
  • Full-time
  • First shift hours, may fluctuate depending on assignments/demands
  • No visa sponsorships provided now or in the future
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Geographical flexibility to relocate for a permanent opportunity upon completion of the program
