Position Details:

The Manager of Collaboration Technology will lead engineers with technical and business expertise in developing and deploying collaboration technology solutions in a Microsoft environment. This people leader role is collaborative, innovative, and fast-paced and is charged with advancing Grainger’s ability to communicate and collaborate across geographic boundaries leveraging M365, SharePoint, and associated technologies. This role will provide strategic direction for the Microsoft Office suite of tools and associated M365 workloads and lead a team of engineers that design and deploy these tools using secure, scalable, and highly available concepts, processes, and procedures. In addition, the team will manage vendor relationships and partner with stakeholders in finance, procurement, and HR to manage costs stewardship of technology spend in this product portfolio. Finally, this role will leverage vendor partners to promote adoption of M365 to increase awareness and efficient utilization of these tools and technologies. 

You Will:

  • Lead a team of Microsoft engineers and developers including distribution of work, performance reviews, and strategic direction of the size and makeup of the team. 
  • Develop tactical and strategic plans for technology lifecycle and evaluate solutions for future deployment in the environment. 
  • Manage vendor relationship with Microsoft and other related vendors to maximize financial stewardship and utilization of these products. 
  • Manage projects across functional disciplines and ensure the right mix of assets are deployed to accomplish tasks. 
  • Evaluate design practices and principles and coordinate with partners in information security and technology infrastructure to ensure systems are operating and maintained according to best practices. 
  • Approve changes to the environment and develop and distribute notifications to leadership about the scope and impact of these changes and participate in incident response as needed. 

 

You Have:

 

  • 5+ years of experience in related field preferred 

 

Experience in either:  

  • Active directory design and deployment 
  • SharePoint development 
  • MS Exchange design, configuration and administration 
  • Windows endpoint and/or server configuration and management 
  • Microsoft 365 tenant administration and configuration 

 

Bonus experience: 

  • Prior people leader experience
