Position Description

The Build Center Inventory Analyst is responsible for daily tasks at the Build Center in Morton  Grove, IL.  One of the primary aspects of these daily tasks is performing focused work on secondary processes supporting both inventory and asset management within Vending Operations.  A strong emphasis is put on organizational skills and attention to details to ensure these expectations are met.      

  • Assist Build Center Manager and Quality Assurance Manager on daily tasks up to and including Asset Management, Machine and Parts Inventory Planning, Resource Engagement and other higher-level, technically focused activities.
  • Daily management of asset movement within Sharepoint and Service Now including but not limited to:  outbound shipments to Grainger customers, inbound machines into Grainger facilities and disengaged assets from customers to 3rd party locations
  • Investigate & reconcile discrepancies of asset locations and alignments
  • Act as liaison to multiple internal partners for the purposes of Asset Management, including but not limited to:  property tax, accounting, finance, internal audit and others as necessary. 
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting for the aforementioned stakeholders, push reporting, or other support details.
  • Facilitate, manage and reconcile ongoing physical field asset audit projects while effectively communicating progress to aligned field partners and internal stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Work with Build Center Manager on enhancements for current asset management processes, tools, resources, technology integration and development of future enhancement roadmap.
  • Identify areas of cost savings opportunities and/or process improvements with external suppliers or internal stakeholders
  • Manage vendor communications, build strong relationships and have active involvement in current supplier management process.
  • Have the ability to influence individual contributors without authority and be able to effectively communicate to all levels of leadership both internally and externally.
  • Responsible for recommending changes to complex and cross-functional processes.
  • Work proactively to create/adjust processes to support changing customer/company.
  • Continuous improvement mindset to drive efficiencies within the Build Center processes and workflows.
  • Having a strong initiative and work ethic and able to thrive in a high-energy teamwork-focused environment.

Position Requirements:

  • BS/BA or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3+ years experience in related field preferred
  • In depth experience with Inventory Management, coordination and /or Asset Management or similar processes
  • Familiarity with processes and principles for multiple areas of the business, including Inventory Planning, Logistics, Customer Service, DC & Branch Operations and CI methodology preferred.
  • High understanding of data analysis, interpretation of data and formulaic applications to the data
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, quickly learn and become competent in, and effectively apply new skills
  • Technical expertise within database software such as Microsoft Excel, Sharepoint and Word as well as other related software.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
