This role typically is located in Lake Forest, IL or any of the identified center locations, but due to COVID-19 will be fully virtual until further notice. Once the site office has a return to work plan, the team member will be required to be on-site.

 

The Transportation Manager leads US transportation strategy, which focuses on the creating more customer centric fulfillment solutions at a scalable cost. This includes testing new ideas and technology in the market to determine customer acceptance. The role will also focus on analyzing existing transportation design and providing cost and service improvements given the shifting business trends.

 

  • This is an individual contributor role and has no direct reports.
  • Lead cross functional teams focused on improving the design of key transportation workstreams.  These projects have multi-million dollar cost impacts and significant service impacts.
  • Transportation lead supporting network design initiatives including planning and execution of new warehousing models.
  • Test new transportation technology and innovation to evaluate customer acceptance
  • Analyze the existing transportation network and prioritize design changes in order to optimize cost and/or service.
  • Transportation lead on developing systemic multi-site customer solutions
  • Represent Transportation interests in high-level, cross-functional assignments
  • Collaborate regularly with Supply Chain leadership to ensure organizational objectives are supported by transportation network
  • Establish and maintain strategic alliances with key internal and external stakeholders and senior management focused on total cost and service solutions.
  • Lead creative thinking that fosters curiosity and drive change and innovation

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience in related field
