Position Details:

Grainger's inventory planning team manages over 10 million SKU's and $1 billion in inventory across 500 DC's and branches in North America. We’re looking for Co-op students to join our Inventory Optimization and Advanced Analytics team to help us make better decisions across the supply chain.  These analytics-based decisions decide where, when and how much inventory is placed to keep customers happy.

Below are a few sample projects you could work on:

  • Measure variation in the supply chain and develop solutions to deliver market-leading service levels
  • Build and deploy a prediction model that identifies drivers of excess inventory
  • Forecast supplier purchase order lead times with prediction intervals
  • Create an optimization model that prioritizes what we buy from a supplier, while ensuring the total amount purchased fits within a truckload space constraint

 

Our co-ops are highly collaborative and focused on supporting your growth through impactful projects. 

The co-op is paid and free housing will be provided near Lake Forest, IL for eligible candidates.

 

You Will:

Develop your skillset using industry leading analytics tools:

  • Accessing data Snowflake and S3
  • Transforming data using R, Python or Julia
  • Deploy models and solutions using Kubernetes

 

You Have:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Expected graduate date: December 2024 – June 2025
  • No visa sponsorships now or in the future
  • Currently enrolled in a college or University, working towards a bachelor's or master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Business Analytics, Marketing, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related majors
