Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $95,000.00 to $158,400.00.

The OST Training and Communications team delivers role-specific learning experiences to more than 7,600 team members and leaders across Grainger’s Fulfillment Network, building the capabilities required for operational excellence and workforce readiness at scale.
The Sr Specialist, Measurement & Platforms serves as the owner of learning effectiveness measurement and learning technology enablement for the Fulfillment Network. This role ensures training investments are measurable, data-informed, and supported by platforms and processes that scale efficiently. The Sr Specialist translates learning and business needs into clear measurement strategies, actionable insights, and fit-for-purpose technology solutions, enabling leaders to make informed decisions about training design, delivery, and continuous improvement.

Learning Measurement & Effectiveness
- Owns and executes the OST learning measurement strategy, including evaluation planning, data collection, analysis, and insight generation across training programs.
- Defines and maintains standard success measures, metrics, and evaluation approaches to assess learning effectiveness beyond completions.
- Builds and sustains feedback loops (learner, leader, and operational signals) to inform continuous improvement and prioritization.
- Prepares and presents learning insights for operational and leadership reviews, translating data into clear implications and recommendations.
- Benchmarks external best practices and emerging trends in learning measurement, assessing applicability for operations at Grainger.
Reporting & Data Enablement
- Consults with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translates requirements into scalable, repeatable reporting solutions.
- Owns reporting processes across learning and communications platforms and supporting systems, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and usability.
- Develops and maintains standard and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
- Manages the report intake and prioritization process while ensuring compliance with data privacy and governance standards.
- Establishes common definitions and standards to reduce ad-hoc, duplicative, or low-value reporting requests.
Learning Technology & Platform Enablement
- Acts as the platform owner and strategic partner for learning and communications technologies supporting engagement, surveys, measurement, and delivery.
- Partners with internal teams (HRIS, GTG, COEs) and external vendors to assess technology needs, evaluate solutions, and recommend options aligned to business goals.
- Leads or coordinates technology implementations, upgrades, integrations, and enhancements, including change communication and user readiness.
- Troubleshoots platform and integration issues, balancing speed, data integrity, and user experience.
- Develops and maintains user guidance, adoption materials, and enablement resources (e.g., job aids, user guides, support content).
- Identifies, pilots, and tests emerging technologies that improve scalability, measurement, or learner experience.
Process Improvement & Standardization
- Identifies and prioritizes opportunities to improve learning and measurement processes across the Fulfillment Network.
- Leads process documentation, standardization, and simplification efforts to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Applies data and systems thinking to eliminate non-value-added work and support sustainable operating models.

Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, human resources, learning, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in learning measurement, analytics, learning technology, process improvement, or related roles.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience interpreting data and translating insights into recommendations.
- Experience working with learning platforms, reporting tools, and data sources.
- Proficiency with tools such as SQL, Excel, Access, SharePoint, or similar technologies.
- Proven ability to manage projects end-to-end and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills across HR, COEs, technology partners, and vendors.
Preferred
- Knowledge of learning evaluation methodologies and adult learning principles.
- Experience supporting large, distributed or operational workforces.
- Demonstrated success driving process improvement and standardization.
