Position Details:

You will drive goal setting strategy and seamless execution for Grainger's sales organization. You will ensure foundational goal understanding through all level of sales and evaluate our strategy and process through a critical lens.

You will report to the Director, Sales Compensation and will be based in Lake Forest, IL


You Will:

  • Drive goal setting strategy and execution for all Grainger US and Grainger Canada commissioned roles.
  • Lead a cross-functional team in seamless goal setting execution.
  • Lead stakeholder and change management for all aspects of goal setting.
  • Continuous evaluation of goal-setting strategy to ensure it aligns with business goals.
  • Communicate the goal setting process and outcome to all levels of the sales organization in a digestible way.
  • Collect voice of sales feedback and identifying areas of improvement across the goal setting process.
  • Assess end-to-end process, technology, governance, education and communication materials to identify and improve activities
  • Manage a team member responsible for executing the goal setting project timeline and mid-half goal adjustment activities
  • Partner with Customer Coverage to ensure future alignment considerations are incorporated into the goal setting process.


You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in sales, operations or finance. Experience forecasting and setting targets a plus.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and ability to build relationships and influence decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement programs to achieve desired goals
  • Advanced experience in problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience working with high volumes of data
  • Advanced Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets). Knowledge of SAP and Vistex is a bonus.
  • BS/BA degree in business, operations or finance preferred.
