Position Details:

The Senior Manager, Community Impact reports to the Senior Director, Diversity & Corporate Responsibility and is responsible for designing and managing programs that promote Grainger’s community impact strategy and philanthropic endeavors.

You Will:

  • Identify civic and non-profit partners for Grainger to engage with, ensuring connectivity with our community impact strategy. Formulate and manage relationships with all external partners.
  • Manage Grainger's Executive and Associate Board Placement Program. Serve as the internal thought leader on board placement programs including program design, participation and budget.
  • Manage the Grainger Business Resource Group (BRG) Community Fund and partners with BRG leaders to disburse funds to relevant non-profit organizations.
  • Serves as thought leader on various community impact programs including Grainger's 3:1 matching gifts program, in-person and virtual volunteer programs and product donations.
  • Manage Grainger's annual community impact budget and tracks against the budget. Work with the Senior Director annually to present a budget, partners and programs for approval from the ESG Leadership Council.
  • Serve as thought leader on philanthropy trends and best practices, provide leadership with relevant industry research and make recommendations on program improvements.
  • Supports the annual creation of the ESG report.

You Have:

  • 7 plus years' experience in philanthropic, social impact, racial equity, DEI or corporate social responsibility/ESG role.
  • Knowledge of and passion for corporate responsibility issues.
  • Experience attaining measurable results for a community impact program.
  • Open, collaborative and inclusive working style – able to share vision and gain buy-in with senior leaders.
  • Experience writing content for different stakeholders and through different channels.
  • Project management experience, including a track record of prioritization and achieving deadlines.
