Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $85,300.00  to $142,200.00.

Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills.

Position Details:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Treasury Strategy & Projects, the Senior Financial Analyst provides financial and data analysis, reporting, and decision support to Treasury leadership.  Key tasks and workstreams include, but are not limited to, cash forecasting and liquidity analytics; equity and long-term incentive plan execution; treasury data management and reporting; treasury process improvement and automation; and working capital strategy and other strategic Treasury initiatives.

Senior Financial Analysts work a hybrid schedule spending approximately 50% of their time in the Lake Forest, IL headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance cash forecasting and liquidity modeling: Build and refine tools that improve visibility into short- and long-term cash positions and inform capital allocation decisions.
  • Support working capital and cash flow analysis: Evaluate trends across receivables, payables, and inventory to identify opportunities that strengthen Grainger’s cash efficiency and financial performance.
  • Maintain Treasury models and analytics: Assist with the credit rating, counterparty risk, and cost of capital models to inform investment, financing, and risk management decisions.
  • Support share repurchase and equity programs: Track buyback execution and assist with equity award and vesting processes in partnership with internal teams and vendors.
  • Analyze credit card activity: Monitor payment trends, fee structures, and merchant costs to identify optimization opportunities and support vendor negotiations.
  • Deliver Treasury reporting and insights: Compile and visualize data on liquidity, FX, deposit rates, and other key metrics to provide clear, actionable insights for leadership.
  • Drive automation and process improvement: Streamline reports, dashboards, and workflows through Power BI and system integration to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Foster collaboration and governance: Build strong partnerships across Finance, Controllership, and other functions while maintaining accuracy, transparency, and compliance in all Treasury activities.

The Ideal Candidate Will Bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in treasury, financial analysis, or corporate finance.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams, as well as with external partners.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence decisions without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with financial systems and data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SQL); adept at working with large, complex data sets.
  • Experience with Treasury Management Systems (e.g. Kyriba, etc.).
  • Demonstrated initiative in identifying and implementing process improvements that drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail; committed to teamwork and delivering excellent internal customer service.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Comfort working independently and making informed decisions amid ambiguity.
  • Motivation to challenge the status quo and help advance Grainger’s financial performance through analytical insight and collaboration.
