The Senior Director, Financial Analysis is responsible for supporting and partnering with business leaders within the Grainger Technology group. This leader serves as a key business advisor to the CIO and its leadership team to enable the delivery of the technology roadmap. He/She will lead a team that will help its business partners prioritize technology investments and ensure the benefits delivered are captured by the organization.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participate as a staff member to the business leadership team to address issues, interpret and drive business performance, and provide forecasts of future performance.
- Set strategic direction for leadership team to align with the strategic goals of the Company.
- Provide financial leadership to strategic initiatives.
- Lead the Long-Range Strategic Planning process. Ensure that the long-range plan meets the strategic and financial goals for the Company.
- Lead the annual financial and business planning processes. Ensure alignment between tactical plans and strategic goals. Work with the rest of the leadership team in the process of prioritizing activities in order to deliver maximum positive impact on short- and long-term business results.
- Lead the forecasting process. Identify important emerging issues and concerns in the financial and non-financial operations of the business and work with other members of the leadership team to develop corrective actions.
- Provide on-going financial decision support for capital investments and other projects.
- Ensure that controls and processes throughout are adequate to ensure the effectiveness of the internal control environment.
- Drive analysis that impacts operational decision making and execution.
- Support key initiatives within organization.
Required Experiences and Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required; MBA & CPA preferred.
- At least 5 years of prior experience in a financial leadership role.
- Ability to think strategically, analyze issues from different angles and measure the tactical execution of projects.
- Proven ability to lead people through change and growth.
- Proven teamwork and people skills. Ability to articulate key concepts, influence others and build a consensus.
- Fiduciary responsibilities require the ability to act with integrity and discretion and sound judgment.
