Position Details: 

The Senior Analyst within the Coverage Strategy team will be responsible for leading analytical and project support for seller investment and strategic initiatives to ensure the allocation of the right roles to the right customers. This role participates as a key member of the strategy team focused on evolving Grainger's sales coverage models to stay ahead of the competition, increase profitable growth, and maintain an excellent customer experience. This role will also maintain metrics and dashboards to inform and measure strategic projects. 

 

You Will: 

  • Synthesize complex analysis from both qualitative and quantitative sources into compelling and actionable insights to optimize strategic sales investments over multi-year timelines. 

  • Baseline, evaluate, and continuously advance current reporting and analytics capabilities to drive standardization of critical data inputs and key performance indicators (KPIs) within coverage and across partners. 

  • Manage workstreams to support strategic initiatives through the development of problem-solving frameworks, building analytical models, and validating assumptions through hypothesis testing. 

  • Develop scalable reporting infrastructure to enable root cause identification and proactive monitoring of strategic coverage decisions. 

  • Build relationships with key-stakeholders and collaborate across Coverage Operations, Customer Information (CI), Corporate Analytics, Finance, Sales, and Grainger Technology Group (GTG) to advance Grainger's Coverage Strategy roadmap. 

 

You Have: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Analytics, Finance, or related fields. 

  • Professional experience of 2+ years in a B2C or B2B industry. 

  • Strong analytics skills and the ability to tackle problems logically; proven ability to define and structure problems, identify and prioritize critical inputs, and develop recommendations based on sound business judgment. 

  • Experience with data analysis tools, visualization, and automation tools (e.g., SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Excel, Python, R, etc.). 

  • Display a continuous improvement and ownership mindset and proactively identify ways to improve Coverage team processes. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to senior leaders. 

  • Proficiency in interpreting business metrics, executing complex analyses, and connecting multiple data sources to explain business performance. 

  • Ability to operate in ambiguous environments while maintaining a commitment to high-quality deliverables. 

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and foster collaboration and alignment.
