BASIC FUNCTION: 

Responsible for assisting with the delivery of defined projects from inception through close.  Will coordinate with resources on a project and/or their management, in order to define project plans, work breakdown structures, and financial forecasts.  Will assist in the creation of charters for projects and ensuring that the end goal meets the initial success criteria.  Will actively assist project managers in managing scope, cost, time and quality and provide ongoing updates to sponsors, portfolio/product/platform managers and key stakeholders on project health, risks and issues.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Scope of work: Supports management of multiple medium to large sized projects.
  • Framework: Supports Agile and other project management concepts, practices and procedures to assignments.
  • Project Planning: Supports the creation and maintenance of project plans, capturing conflicts.
  • Budgeting: Supports the development and maintenance of a detailed cost baseline and actuals.
  • Project Resource Management: Works with IT leaders to effectively align resources across projects.
  • Project Delivery Launch: Assists in ensuring that all resources are accounted for and aligned to work prior to execution.
  • Stakeholders Satisfaction: Assist in aggregating, preparing and delivering regularly scheduled status reports.
  • Risk Management: Assists in the identification and management of project risks and assesses potential impact.
  • Coaching/Mentoring: Provides project management coaching to less experienced Project Managers.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES:  

  • Proven leadership ability that manifests itself in quickly earning sponsorship and key stakeholders trust; mobilizing and motivating teams; setting direction and approach; resolving conflict; delivery of tough messages with grace; ability to influence higher levels in the organization; executing with limited information and ambiguity.
  • Must have a proactive, results-oriented attitude, lead by the example of serving others, with a superb work ethic and flexibility to work within an environment of constant change.
  • Ability to identify issues and risks across any team, proposing solutions and understanding when to escalate to leadership.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or related field
  • Strong communication skills.
