 Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $101,300.00  to $168,900.00.

Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills.

Position Details

 

Reporting directly to the Senior Manger of Strategic Program Operations, the Program Manager will manage and drive the successful execution of complex, high-impact programs that support strategic business goals within the Merchandising, Supplier Management and Endless Assortment organizations.  This role is responsible for orchestrating multiple interrelated projects, optimizing resources, managing risks, and ensuring clear, consistent communication across stakeholders.  By translating big-picture strategy into actionable plans, the Program Manager will ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and with measurable business outcomes.

   

This is a hybrid role and is based onsite in Lake Forest or Chicago 3 days/week.

 

You Will

 

  • Lead and manage the delivery of cross-functional projects by defining clear approach, direction for project teams, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Translates strategic objectives into actionable project plans and deliverables that drive business value.
  • Guide day-to-day decisions and long-term program direction through applying deep understanding of Grainger’s operations, infrastructure, and functional strategic objectives.
  • Evaluates and prioritizes work based on business need, ensuring optimal use of resources and sustained impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align program goals, execution, resolve challenges and refine business requirements to ensure decisions are grounded in value creation and long-term benefit.
  • Proactively identify organizational risks and opportunities, summarize key issues, and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Maintains a broad view of the business, with keen awareness of customer expectations, competitive pressures, and internal challenges.
  • Ability to evaluate, implement, and drive adoption of new tools to support team collaboration and program execution.

 

You Have

 

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in executing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience problem-solving though utilizing data insights and trends.
  • Experience communicating at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience managing budgets, timelines, and teams across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with program management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar).
  • Experience influencing and building relationships cross-functionally while creating an environment that fosters teamwork to achieve common goals.
  • PMP, PgMP or other relevant project/program management certification strongly preferred.
