Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $80,700.00 – $134,500.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to 5 % or $ , based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

Position Details:
The Network Engineer II/Infrastructure Engineer II supports the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise network infrastructure across Grainger facilities, distribution centers, and data centers.
This role is responsible for executing network deployments, troubleshooting complex issues, and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure connectivity. The engineer collaborates closely with senior engineers, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver network solutions aligned to business and operational needs.

You Will:
Network Deployment & Implementation:
- Design, configure, and deploy network solutions including routing, switching, wireless, and WAN technologies
- Support rollout of SD-WAN, dual DIA, and branch connectivity solutions
- Assist with large-scale network refresh programs (e.g., Wi-Fi, access layer, WAN modernization) Operations & Support
- Monitor network health and performance across enterprise environments (branch, DC, cloud)
- Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents, including wireless, WAN, and application connectivity issues
- Provide escalation support for complex outages and performance degradation
Wireless & Branch Networking:
- Support enterprise wireless environments (e.g., Mist / Juniper, Cisco) including deployment, tuning, and troubleshooting
- Maintain reliable connectivity for distribution centers, branches, and critical facilities
Change & Incident Management:
- Execute changes through established change management processes (ServiceNow)
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts
- Ensure minimal business disruption during maintenance and changes
Monitoring, Automation & Continuous Improvement:
- Leverage monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog) to identify trends and proactively address issues
- Contribute to automation, standardization, and operational efficiency initiatives
- Develop and maintain operational metrics and reporting
Documentation & Standards:
- Create and maintain network diagrams, configurations, and support documentation
- Contribute to engineering standards, policies, and best practices
- Ensure solutions align with security and compliance requirements
Collaboration & Vendor Management:
- Partner with architecture, security, and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for circuit delivery, issue resolution, and upgrades
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–5 years of experience supporting enterprise network environments
- Experience with routing and switching (Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with WAN technologies (MPLS, Internet, SD-WAN)
- Experience troubleshooting network performance and connectivity issues
Preferred:
- Experience with enterprise wireless platforms (e.g., Mist, Cisco, Aruba)
- Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure)
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability platforms (e.g., Datadog)
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
- Experience working within ITIL-based processes (incident, change management
