Position Details:


You will deliver regular operational improvements and operational insights within the Grainger Marketing. You will be responsible for:

  • Lead Operations Excellence projects that add value and guide efficiency.
  • Improve operational data analytics that gauge Marketing productivity and efficiency.
  • Accelerate team member adoption through change management.


You Will:


Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement

  • Identify areas of improvement and lead improved operational excellence within Marketing.
  • Turn complex business problems into executable plans and sustainable solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects.
  • Identify and improve cross-functional Marketing processes.
  • Eliminate waste, increase productivity, and improve team member engagement.
  • Create solutions through continuous improvement methodologies, effective work management, automated processes, and logic-driven user applications.
  • Prioritize work, guide progress, and remove barriers.
  • Influence and provide sustained results through others.
  • Develop new user-tools through automation and logic-driven user applications


Operational Data Analytics

  • Develop and manage operational data analytics.
  • Provide value-added insights on team member productivity, efficiency, quality, process throughput, cycle time, resource allocation, capacity, and work management.
  • Identify & discuss operational insights and opportunities with Leaders.
  • Mine data and use analytics to identify targets for improvement.
  • Quantify, qualify, and visualize value created by Marketing Operations.


Change Management


  • Use Change Management framework to promote adoption of solutions.
  • Further improve tools included in the change management framework that manage team members, define communication strategies, and propel adoption.
  • Partner with the Sr Manager to expand the framework adoption across Marketing.


You Have:



  • BA in a business analytics focused field (accounting, finance, econ).
  • 3-5 year in related operations-based environment preferred.


Continuous Improvement

  • Certified in Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking).
  • Track record in continuous improvement and operational projects.
  • Experience and understanding of technology and systems.
  • Development experience in Microsoft Power Automate and / or Power Apps.


Analytics Skills

  • Development experience in data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau, Domo).
  • Experience with API connections, data / process automation, ETL preferred.
  • Proficient in other Microsoft data focused tools (Excel, Access, Power Query, Flows).
  • Experience mining operational data sets and transform it into business insights.
