The Reporting & Analytics team oversees the creation, production, and management of key metrics, dashboards, databases, and tools used to make business decisions.  The primary focus is on Merchandising and Supplier Management financial results, portfolio analysis, and operational performance.  The team also highlights performance across various segments such as products, suppliers, categories, business units, and customers.  In addition, the team coaches business partners across North America on analysis techniques, data availability and data visualizations.

 

Primary Function:

Lead a team of Analysts and Sr. Analysts to drive assessment and analysis of business intelligence within the Merchandising and Supplier Management organization including key financial performance, operational and emerging business metrics and trends.  Develop and continuously improve tools that: facilitate performance tracking and analysis, support and improve decision-making, and drive operational improvements and efficiencies.  Provide leadership within Merchandising and Supplier Management by working closely with leaders to interpret key performance metrics and trends and identify business opportunities and improvements.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

•     Leading and supporting a team of Reporting Analysts and Sr. Analysts to develop appropriate visuals and analytics to drive business decisions.

•     Developing team members through meaningful coaching and mentoring.

•     Oversee development and production business unit reporting, metrics and analysis according to deadlines and service agreements.

•     Lead the measurement and analysis of results to identify root causes, key trends and business opportunities and develop action plans for improving results.

•     Facilitating the evolution of report commentary to generate additional value through business insight.

•     Coordinating the resolution of data availability/quality issues across Enterprise Systems and affected operational teams.

•     Educating our audiences about department tools, data structures, policies, metrics, and trends.

•     Installing our brand of tools and applications across all functional areas we support.

•     Driving a culture where the effectiveness and efficiency of our analytics and tools is continually improving.

•     Partnering with key resources to ensure that our data sources are accurate, complete, and consistent.

•     Conducting ad hoc analysis to understand root cause of various challenges and issues faced.

•     Anticipate and evaluate business requirements, trends, and variances.  Understand critical operational issues and needs, and provide perspective, reporting and analysis to drive improvements.

•     Facilitate and educate on the appropriate use and interpretation of the measurements to achieve desired outcomes.  Communicate key trends and implications and identify areas to improve operational and financial results.

•     Develop ad-hoc reporting and analysis to meet business requirements.

•     Must have a strong knowledge of the business and business processes to be able to link customer needs and behaviors to metrics and results.

•     Must be able to multi-task on a wide variety of complex issues simultaneously.

 

Preferred Education & Experience:

•     Bachelor degree in Analytics, Finance, Statistics, or Economics with 5-7 years of related experience.

•     Ability to attract and develop top talent while creating a positive department culture.

•     Strong analytical, problem solving, change management, presentation, and written communication skills required.

•     Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Tableau, PowerBI and SQL.

•     Working knowledge of SAP, Business Objects, TeraData and VBA.

•     Possesses command of detailed analytical and data concepts, systems, and strategies.

•     Proven ability to deliver results across multiple teams and functional areas.

•     Proven ability to build relationships and influence at varying levels.

•     Possess mature and professional demeanor appropriate for interaction with cross-functional stakeholders.
