 Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $78,200.00  to $130,400.00.

Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills.

Position Details:

The Senior Paralegal / Legal Analyst - Intellectual Property reports to the Associate General Counsel, GTG & Endless Assortment.  As the Senior IP Paralegal / Legal Analyst, you will work with Grainger attorneys, outside counsel and paralegals on several intellectual property matters, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, domain names, brand protection, licensing, and litigation support. The Senior Paralegal / Legal Analyst - Intellectual Property collaborates with Grainger teams globally to gather and provide the information necessary to ensure that intellectual property matters are handled.

 

You Will:

  • Assist with the management of Grainger's U.S. and foreign trademark and copyright portfolio as well as our domain name portfolio. 
  • Work with Grainger partners worldwide and outside counsel regarding new trademarks or the addition of new services covered under existing marks.
  • Draft and complete license agreements required for the appropriate use of IP assets and licensed content for Grainger departments, subsidiaries and third parties.
  • Assist with patent filings and maintaining docket and the drafting and execution of related license and assignment documents.
  • Assist Associate General Counsel, GTG & Endless Assortment with the review of innovations and programs throughout Grainger to identify protectible IP, including trademarks, patents and copyrights, and trade secrets in the form of non-patentable inventions/work product/technology, strategies.
  • Assist with the development of IP training, guidelines, tools, and other resources, as well as agendas for the Patent Committee and Brand Council.
  • Assist with marketing copy review. 
  • Assist on other projects as directed by the Associate General Counsel, GTG & Endless Assortment. 
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the Grainger Corporate Affairs team.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying and implementing new processes, document templates, playbooks, and training materials.
  • Embrace curiosity with a continual learning mindset.  

 

You Have:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Paralegal Certification from ABA accredited program
  • 5 years of relevant experience in a corporate law department or law firm
  • Worked as a member of a team and collaborated with all Legal Department team members.
