Summary of Responsibilities  

Infrastructure Network Engineer will ensure that the network infrastructure is sufficiently robust, scalable, and efficient to deliver the integrated connectivity services underlying the physical environment that supports the processes, physical resources, and operators required for developing, integrating, operating, and sustaining applications and support services. Infrastructure Network Engineer build, test, implement, configure, tune and offer support of the network connectivity infrastructure services in the cloud and on-premise, to include the server platforms, storage systems, middleware infrastructure, security, and client technologies. They pursue the physical design, implementation, and support of major automation solutions in a multiplatform environment, make recommendations for improvements to the usability and delivering of automated services, and identify opportunities for increased adoption of orchestration technologies.

Required Experience and Skills

  • This position requires a BS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3+ years of connectivity technology solutions
  • Expert in Cisco WiFi solutions (Wireless controllers, Access Points, antennas, ISE for WiFi, wireless surveys (such as Ekahau), 802.11ax, etc. Including design, implementation, and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated expertise with the design and configuration of routing and switching in an enterprise environment including physical datacenters and multivendor clouds (Cisco IoS, NX-OS, ACI, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience with load balancers such as F5, firewalls such as Palo Alto, and DNS such as InfoBlox or Route53
  • Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM principles and concepts
  • Understands and can deliver in an agile development methodology
  • Creation of documentation including network drawings, diagrams, processes, and as-built documentation
  • Demonstrated strong customer focus orientation

 

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • ECSE wireless design certification recommended (Ekahau)
  • Experience with anchor controllers and flex connect technologies
  • Familiarity with cellular wireless solutions to include 3G, 4G/LTE, 5G
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk within complex environments and solutions
  • Working knowledge of major Internet routing protocols, network hardware and packet forwarding architectures.
  • Experience with many of the following: Ethernet, 802.2/3, 802.1d, IP, TCP, BGP, OSPF, HSRP/VRRP/GLBP, PIM, IGMP, MSDP, MPLS, LDP, DNS, HTTP, SSL, 3,4, and 5G cellular services, 10G wireless, 40/100G Futures, scripting (Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud delivery services such as Amazon Web Services, Google, or Azure
