Position Details:

The Information Security team protects all of Grainger, from our systems to our data across the global company. Grainger is creating new experiences for our customers through products and and supply chain. Products such as Keepstock empower our customers to manage their inventory and have what they need immediately available. Our infrastructure provides the global backbone which supports our customers and company.

The mission of the Security Architecture team is to assess risks and create designs which secure our global technology footprint. As a security architect, you will develop the patterns which support our business goals and strategies, focusing on infrastructure, collaboration tools, and endpoint security.

Your scope of influence includes partnering with the infrastructure teams. You will influence through leading deep technical architecture discussions with Architects, Engineers, and Service Owners.

You will report to the Sr. Director of Information Security Architecture & Engineering and may be based remotely or at our offices in the Chicago area.

 

Compensation:

This position is salaried and will pay between 115,260.00 to 176,970.00 with a target bonus of 15%

You Will:

  • Plan, research, and develop security architecture for the infrastructure, collaboration, and endpoint domains
  • Define roadmaps to support security goals
  • Create conceptual and logical architecture designs
  • Work with teams to define requirements, evaluate architecture, analyze trade-offs, and recommend solutions
  • Assess risks through penetration testing, threat modeling, and white-boarding exercises with teams
  • Evaluate products and tools through PoV exercises
  • Advise teams on the security implications of their roadmaps

 

You Have:

  • 5+ years of architecture experience
  • 3+ years of information security experience
  • College degree or equivalent industry experience in a technical field
  • CISSP of other security or vendor product certifications
  • Knowledge of security for collaboration tools like M365
  • Knowledge of cloud security with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and industry standards
  • Awareness of modern software lifecycle development and infrastructure as code
