Position Details:

The Human Resource Generalist serves as a Business Partner to Grainger Technology Group  while directly guiding team members and leaders . Reporting directly to the Human Resource Director, the Human Resource Generalist translates human capital effects to support our goals like change projects, building talent, engaging team members, enhancing culture and finally improving performance. This position will reside in either Lake Forest or Chicago Illinois.

You Will:

  • Implement solutions to close gaps in support of our talent strategy (assist with implementing headcount plans, solutions that drive positive employee engagement & retention, and support growth and drive business results).
  • Assist with helping to drive Talent Excellence by understanding retention areas through exit data throughout the businesses.
  • Coach front line and middle level management to make the right decisions when it comes to people (managing people spend, providing a point of view on talent, etc.).
  • Assist in driving talent excellence within the business/ function by pulling reporting and data to highlight process in key metrics within GTG 
  • Gather insights and data to support executive level talent reporting and annual performance cycles
  • Support relevant HR projects for GTG through project coordination

You Have:

  • BA/BS or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in related field.
  • A degree in Human Resources, related field or equivalent progressive experience.
  • Experience solving human resources issues.
  • Manage confidential information.
  • Strong decision making skills and judgment to drive the right impact
  • Ability to relate to people at all levels and build trusted relationships
  • Diagnose problems, develop alternative solutions, and recommend and implement a course of action.
  • Proficiency in systems, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Word, Publisher and PowerPoint and Outlook.
