Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $160,300.00 to $267,100.00.

The Director, Supply Chain Analytics leads the data science and operations research strategy for Grainger’s end-to-end supply chain. This role drives innovation through advanced analytics and optimization to enable data-driven decisions and deliver measurable business impact. The Director builds and empowers high-performing teams that design, develop, and deploy predictive and optimization models that enhance service, and efficiency across the network. The leader partners closely with senior supply chain, AI/ML, and technology leaders to define critical capabilities, prioritize opportunities, and help chart the path forward for Grainger’s supply chain.
You Will

Lead and develop a high-performing analytics team that uses data science, operations research, and machine learning to solve complex supply chain challenges and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Define and execute a supply chain analytics strategy aligned with Grainger’s priorities to drive measurable gains in service, productivity, and network efficiency.

Partner with Supply Chain Optimization and cross-functional teams to identify where advanced analytics and optimization can deliver impact and shape future capabilities.

Oversee the design, development, and deployment of predictive and optimization models with analytical rigor, production scalability, and disciplined governance throughout the model lifecycle.

Champion analytics across the supply chain by explaining complex ideas clearly and advocating for data-driven decisions at all levels.

Collaborate with senior leaders to align strategic priorities and integrate analytics solutions into core operations.

Develop and mentor analytics talent through coaching, growth opportunities, and clear career paths to strengthen Grainger’s long-term analytics capability.

Stay current on emerging technologies in data science, optimization, and AI/ML to keep Grainger at the forefront of supply chain innovation.
You Have

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field required

Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field preferred

10+ years in Data Science or Analytics required

Advanced knowledge of machine learning, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics.

Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Ability to define and execute a data science strategy aligned with business goals.

Skill in translating complex analytics into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.

Strong ability to influence and partner across a matrixed organization at senior levels to drive impact.

Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
