Position Details:

 

You will ensure that Grainger Merchandising presents a consistent, useful experience across channels to help customers find the products they need quickly and efficiently. They serve as the editorial voice for our publications developing, communicating and implementing the standards that ensure we provide an excellent customer experience and ensuring we meet our standards across our digital and print publications. You will determine the cost and effectiveness of our merchandising content and will employ a continuous improvement lens to ensure we are maximizing customer outcomes.

You will need to develop a deep understanding of our business, our customers that we serve, and our content creation processes.

You will also need to develop deep relationships across the business with stakeholders so that you can influence groups and help them create industry leading publications.

 

 

You will:

 

  • Provide strategic direction, thought leadership and understand what works in creating industry leading publications
  • Lead, train, and coach the leaders of Content Strategy and Publishing Operations.
  • Develop merchandising presentation guidelines and concepts, maintain governance of these with a strong editorial lens, and measure customer outcomes to drive continuous improvement for content quality and strategic direction.
  • Oversee end-to-end Publishing operating models and prioritize improvement initiatives impacting processes, technology, organizational structure and skillset
  • Implement continuous improvement across Publishing content creation teams.
  • Determine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the cost, efficiency and quality of departmental outputs, processes, and inputs and the effectiveness of our content relevant to customer outcomes
  • Partner with Merchandising strategy to develop structure and processes to ensure we create the best customer experience in the industry with the most complete and accurate content.

 

 

 You Have:

 

  • BS/BA degree in engineering, technology, marketing, or business preferred. MBA preferred
  • 10+ years' experience in industrial product management, merchandising, marketing, new product development, or technical sales
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills
  • Demonstrated successful project management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and obsessive attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills—written, interpersonal and small group presentation. Must be able to translate data into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and MRO customers
  • Continuous improvement and process orientation
  • Ability to develop strategic relationships both internal and external to the company
  • Ability to align and partner across the business to drive exceptional results financially and strategically
  • Proven ability to develop employees at every level to their full potential including developing successors to his/her current position
  • Ability to produce and present MRO industry statistical and financial analysis
  • Able to establish effective relationships with all levels of direct staff and with peers and management
  • Comfortable building and delivering presentations to management, staff and field audiences
