Compensation:
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $78,200.00 to $130,400.00.

Position Details:
We are seeking a Business Systems Engineer accountable for the SAP SPP (Service Parts Planning) functions of Inventory Planning within our Supply Chain Management Team. The team is accountable for ensuring we have the required inventory levels, managing the planning processes that support our supply chain network.
This role is a functional/technical role, and the candidate should have experience with SAP custom programing, configuration, and business processes. You will have experience designing, troubleshooting, writing, integration testing, and supporting ABAP development as required. This position functions as a liaison working with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems.
You will:
- Implement, configure, develop, maintain and optimize enterprise-grade commercial software platforms that enable Grainger’s core business processes (Order Mgmt, Supply Chain and Warehouse, Finance and HR).
- Possess a deep understanding of the core business processes enabled by these tools and can translate business requirements to the most optimal, performance, reliable, scalable and secure solution that meets the need.
- Responsible for seamless operation of/integration between complex systems in a rapidly evolving ecosystem that include traditional ERPs (on-prem, hybrid, cloud), best-in-breed specialized tools and SaaS platforms, as well as fully-custom solutions.
- Demonstrate Grainger’s core Engineering principles and continuous improvement mindset including a stewardship for both the overall Business Systems Platform and improving our data-first culture.
- Share responsibility for the growth of the Engineering discipline at Grainger through community involvement, internal centers of practice, mentoring and coaching other Engineers.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute more complex configuration in respective technical domain and business application. Possess a proficient understanding of impact on the business processes.
- Execute requirements per technical specifications and defined deliverables, scrutinize details, question inconsistencies, and demonstrate curiosity and functional understanding.
- Foundational technical and functional domain experience within respective team. Consistently deliver with appropriate nonfunctional requirements.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures used for administration and operational activities. Identify areas of waste, redundancy and optimization in core processes.
- Participate in team activities (daily status meetings, tech huddle topics, desk checks) and pairing with peers to work on stories.
- Learn and practice continuous delivery practices and methodology.
You have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience configuring and optimizing large enterprise systems/applications in a specific domain.
- Experience with specific technologies and languages (as required per domain)
- Ability to design, develop, and deploy solutions with only moderate guidance
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes
