Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $72,500.00 to $120,800.00.

Position Details
Business Systems Engineers implement, configure, develop, maintain and optimize enterprise-grade commercial software platforms that enable Grainger's core business processes (i.e. Contracts, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance and HR). You will understand the core business processes enabled by these tools and can translate business requirements to the most optimal, performant, reliable, scalable and secure solution that meets the need. You are responsible for seamless operation of/integration between complex systems in a rapidly evolving ecosystem that includes traditional ERPs (on-prem, hybrid, cloud), best-in-breed specialized tools and SaaS platforms, as well as fully custom solutions. You will demonstrate Grainger's core Engineering principles and continuous improvement mindset including a stewardship for both the overall Business Systems Platform and improving our customer first culture. You are primarily responsible for creating and implementing the physical design which includes building, testing, and deploying code; configuring systems; resolving defects; confirming compliance with security, performance and related standards; providing level 2 and 3 technical support; and delivering recommendations to improve systems.
You Will
• Support design, implementation, and maintenance of systems and applications to support business operations and processes
• Execute on requirements per technical specifications and defined deliverables, scrutinizes details, questions inconsistencies and demonstrates curiosity and functional understanding
• Configuring modules, and providing technical support to Contracts end-users
• Adhere to development of solutions to ensure they are flexible, scalable, and meet company standards.
• Create software documentation, such as testing plans, flow charts and technical documentation
• Monitor and maintain integration between Collaboration platforms (Smartsheet, Slack, Etc.) and other systems and tools (SAP, Sailpoint, SalesForce, Microsoft tooling)
• Providing assistance to users of Grainger's Contract platforms via ServiceNow Incident and Tasks management.
• Participate in and follow Grainger's Technology Change Control policy
• Participate in team activities (status meetings, tech huddle topics, etc.) and pairing with peers to work on stories
You Have
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years Strong organizational and communication skills.
• 2+ years Ability to analyze, interpret and document complex problems or processes
• 2+ years Ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure.
• 2+ years Experience troubleshooting mail flow issues, email auth protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, etc), encryptions (TLS, S/MIME, etc), Iron Port experience preferred
• 2+ years Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with partners
• 2+ years Experience supporting and administrating the Microsoft platform (admin portal, backend infrastructure, Office Suite, Power Apps, etc), including understanding licensing, integrations, data integrity, security, and system maintenance
• 2+ years Experience with scripting (Microsoft Graph API/PowerShell, etc)
• Problem-solving: Ability to analyze and solve complex technical issues. (Intermediate proficiency)
• Communication: Effectively communicating with technical teams and stakeholders. (Intermediate proficiency)
• Teamwork: Collaborating with other developers. (Intermediate proficiency)
• Agile methodologies: CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security practices. (Beginner proficiency)
• Azure, AWS, SQL Server a plus
