Position Details:

The Sr. Director, Machine Learning Research & Application will lead the Machine Learning & Innovation teams to set the scientific culture and leadership within the company overall. The Products ,you will affect span E-commerce Search, Recommender Systems, Information Retrieval Systems and Visual Search. Projects often encompass research, model development, testing, scaling and implementing in production. You will lead teams towards building world class ML, AI, and robotics solutions in the MRO space.

This is a hybrid role based in our Chicago office. You will report to the V.P, Group Product Manager.

 

You Will:

  • Hire top tier science and engineering talent.
  • Coach team to develop the ML & Innovation roadmaps by defining both long-term strategy and short-term plans to achieve the product vision.
  • Set the scientific culture and leadership within the organization, advocating for ML & AI at a leadership level.
  • Identify new opportunities to use ML, AI, robotics, and other new technologies.

 

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in related field. PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, Physics, Language & Information Technologies, Operations, Statistics or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading teams to build machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep learning, and natural language processing systems at scale.
  • Experience driving change in a large, centralized organization.
  • Experience working in a research capacity. Experience in e-commerce.
