Position Details

Reporting to the Director of Learning and Leadership Development, as the Learning Experience Consultant you will lead Enterprise Learning & Leadership Development (L&LD) systems and tools, both internal and external to Grainger.  You will lead a variety of L&LD technology platforms, assesses our needs by consulting with partners, and aligning with HRIS and IT partners to meet our learning technology goals.   The Learning Experience Consultant is also responsible for learning process improvement efforts, learning measurement, and learning reporting. This role benchmarks and connects externally to understand industry trends/best practices and creates points of views that expand the use of technologies.   The position will require presence onsite two days per week at our Lake Forest, IL headquarters.

You Will

Learning Measurement

  • Create and manage L&LD Measurement Strategy, including daily ownership of evaluation technology, planning, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Maintain standards for reporting metrics and preps information for operational reviews and shares metrics with broader team.
  • Use internal and external partnerships to benchmark, research, and identify new innovations within the field of learning measurement and assess fit/applicability for Grainger.

Reporting

  • Consult with partners to gather report requirements and build supporting report processes.
  • Oversee report request process and ensures adherence to data privacy requirements.
  • Create and edit standard and ad-hoc learning reports.

Process Improvement

  • Facilitate the identification and prioritization of process improvement opportunities across L&LD; lead process documentation and standardization efforts.

Learning Technology

  • Provide technology support for learning platforms.
  • Partner and consult with vendors to troubleshoot integration issues and best manage outsourced solutions.
  • Consult with all partners to assess technology needs and provide options, recommendations, and implementation timelines.
  • Coordinate technology implementations, upgrades, and enhancements and communicate across affected user populations.
  • Train and support company partners and end-users on learning technologies.
  • Create and support internal technology solutions created in SharePoint, Access, and Excel or other tools.
  • Develop materials to support client usage and adoption of technology solutions, including user guides, support videos, and other communications.
  • Identify, research, and test new technology solutions required for successful L&LD operations in partnership with HRIS and IT.

You Have

Competencies

    • Knowledge of virtual learning platforms, learning authoring tools, and other learning technologies.
    • Knowledge of learning measurement strategies.
    • Proficient across broad technologies like Access, complex spreadsheets, and SharePoint.
    • Experience managing projects from conception to implementation.
    • Experienced collaborating with multiple partners across the team and HR.
    • Focus on process improvement and simplification.

Experiences

    • Undergraduate degree in business management, human resources, or related fields
    • 3 or more years of experience in related field required
    • Working with global teams on their learning experiences through technology-based solutions.
    • Partnering with internal technical resources and outsourced talent development partners to ensure excellence across a variety of technology solutions.
    • Consulting with internal and external resources and make independent decisions to support learning measurement and evaluation.
