Location: GRESHAM, OR, US, 97030

Company: Grainger Businesses

Work Location Type: Onsite

We are seeking a high-performing, high-potential senior leader for our Northwest Distribution Center (NWDC) under construction in beautiful Gresham, OR. Before we post externally in Q4, we want to determine if there is any interest internally for this role.

Joining the NWDC’s leadership team represents an opportunity to make your mark by establishing a positive culture, grounded in the Grainger Edge principles, in a brand-new facility. It also presents a unique career-building opportunity from an operational perspective as Grainger’s highly automated, 500,000 square-foot NWDC is the first new distribution center to be built since the Louisville Distribution Center (LVDC) began outbound operations in 2021.

The NWDC is being built specifically for Grainger as a state-of-the art building with the latest technology and innovative features such as automated small bin storage and retrieval, which dramatically reduces the need for walking, thus allowing team members to focus on providing the highest levels of quality and service to customers. Building plans also include solar panels and other sustainability features such as hydrogen fuel cell batteries, electrification using heat pumps and metering and monitoring systems to ensure the building is operating at peak efficiencies. Grainger is a leader among the MRO industry in operating Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified facilities; LEED certification will be pursued for this DC as well.

Upon opening, the NWDC will be a critical piece of Grainger’s coast-to-coast distribution network strengthening the company’s reputation for industry-leading fulfillment by broadening the breadth of items available for next-day delivery in the Pacific Northwest. The additional capacity will enable even better service for current and future Grainger customers in the Pacific Northwest and the surrounding region.
