Position Details:

During our 10-week summer program, you will work closely with a mentor while learning different business areas and functions within a branch. You will spend days learning to lead and motivate a team, driving sales, merchandising products, and providing an exceptional experience for our customers.

 

You Will:

  • Interns will experience a cross-functional, department specific, networking, and learning opportunity, while engaging to produce meaningful work with real business impact.
  • Commit to strong ethical behavior and adhere to Grainger’s Business Conduct Guidelines, the Grainger Edge and Principles and the Branch Excellence Standards.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience using our coaching model.
  • Learn to operate and perform business functions in various software applications.
  • Provide new ideas and recommend solutions to business or team opportunities, foster a continuous improvement environment.
  • Actively participate in internship program training activities, development opportunities and events.
  • Learn how to make business decisions based on data and various reports

 

Work Environment:

  • Significant daily interaction with team members, managers, and customers
  • Majority of time is spent standing and walking
  • Physical requirements include reaching, grasping, climbing, standing and bending
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance
  • Required to travel within the market assigned

 

You Have:

  • Currently enrolled in college or university with expected graduation between December 2023 – June 2024
  • Proven communication (written / verbal), interpersonal and some leadership skills required
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • No visa sponsorships now or in the future.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting demands and competing priorities
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to drive results.
  • Able to operate powered industrial equipment as needed
  • Learn to adapt to current technology needs
  • Passion for customer service, sales and people development with an ability to energize others
