PRIMARY FUNCTION
 
The Team Member Relations Specialist supports team members and leaders in partnership with the HR Manager on the interpretation and application of policies, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring that all practices are in compliance with the requirements of Panama Labor Law. This role will ensure standards of excellence in deliverables and business outcomes and serve as a liaison with various HR departments to further drive consistent team member experiences and positive team member relations, while consistently adhering to the legal regulations and employment standards set forth by Panama's labor legislation
 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the investigation of team member concerns to ensure an environment aligned with company culture.
  • Provide guidance on team member’s performance and assist with creation and amendments of improvement plans.
  • In close partnership with the HR Manager, regularly review team member sentiment to drive proactive review and resolution of team member concerns.
  • Actively interpret and apply company policies to drive effective corrective action.
  • Proactively review and analyze established set of consistent team member experience success measures and other workplace trends to partner with HR Manager, Labor Relations, and other CoE’s to drive positive team member relations and reduce variation in the team member experience.
  • Ensure leaders build effective relationships, skill, and capability to drive high performing teams through various team member relations processes.
  • Create open and multi way dialogue and partnerships in effort to fully understand and embrace all implications and risk of a situation to recommend and influence outcomes.
  • Proactively create open and sustained dialogue sharing, value-added coaching, feedback, development, and growth for team members at all levels.
  • Track and manage accommodation requests to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws, supporting team members’ needs throughout the process.
  • Utilize case management tools to document and effectively manage team member relations cases.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 1+ years in human resources or comparable areas required
  • 1+ years specific expertise in employee relations and Panamanian labor law preferred
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) required
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and action plans
  • Strong consulting skills, influencer and coach (as a business leader first, offering HR leader expertise)
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple cross-functional stakeholder groups and within the team to drive positive impacts for the Company
  • Problem solving and systemic thinking skills- critical analytics/ diagnosis/ prioritization skills
  • Strong decision-making skills and judgment to drive the right impact
