PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Solutions Engineer is a critical role in the Automation Team within the Inventory SPM organization as the central point of contact between the automation Solution Engineers and business process owners. The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for the development and testing of small enhancements, maintenance, scheduling, peer reviews, and the development of automation solution documentation for bots. As a key member of the automation team, the Solutions Engineer is responsible for gathering and refining requirements on existing process documentation while conducting reviews with the process writers or SMEs to evaluate, prioritize, and map the to-be automation vision. This role involves automation fit evaluations to identify blockers and enablers while articulating them to the business and documenting solutions to ensure an efficient implementation between systems, processes, and procedures.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for re-designing and testing existing automated processes based on new requirements or system changes.
- Managing investigation of incidents in production and handling daily maintenance of bot resources to ensure the bots are running timely and efficiently.
- Manages the upgrade, installation, and testing of the automation tool environments by coordinating capabilities with IT partners.
- Accountable for identifying, assessing, and documenting processes suitable for automation.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in existing processes and define/document automation solutions based on the software capabilities.
- Provide an overview to the process owner of the automation solution and walk them through the to-be design.
- Participate in workshops with the business and subject matter experts to understand the end-to-end process while identifying the suitability of the process for automation.
- Understanding the risks, assumptions, and dependencies associated with the process.
- Interface directly with the business and IT partners daily.
- Lead and coordinate the completion of process design documentation, time studies, and requirements with the Process Owners and Writers.
- Work closely with Solution Engineers to ensure requirements are accurately mapped, documented, and suitable for development.
- Monitors the scheduling of bots and the control room.
- Generates monthly or ad hoc automation performance metrics and reporting.
- Provides on-going operational support including upgrades, defect fixes, and any process change activities.
- Present complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both orally and in written form.
- Understand and gain knowledge of Inventory- SPM organization processes.
- Define technical, operational, and user requirements to determine automation solutions through coordination of automation fit evaluation sessions.
- Develop Process Design documents, Process Map, and Automation Solutions in the Automation space.
- Complies with and helps to enforce design and coding standards, policies and procedures.
- Reports status, issues and risks to leader, business leads and peers on a regular basis.
- Improves skills in automation products by supporting the Solution Engineers Design through Responsible for re-designing and testing existing automated processes based on new requirements or system changes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in related field preferred.
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Technical, or related field preferred
- 3+ years’ experience working and process knowledge of automation and analytical tools in a business setting
- 3+ years of experience managing systems and/or business projects
- Experience/knowledge of business process re-engineering, business/system analysis and requirements documentation, and using automation solutions and robotic tools
- Process Design Documentation and a continuous improvement mindset is an advantage
- Ability to understand the business process and create process flow diagrams, Visio, Technical Design requirements documentation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, Microsoft Word)
- Communication skills including the ability to understand and interpret business process in any area of detail
- Excellent time management, collaboration and coordination skills
- Demonstrated experience in application development, code development, application testing, component design, and solid understanding of programming concepts.
