PRIMARY FUNCTION

Provide professional management and administration relating to all credit and credit related responsibilities matters including $80M of Accounts Receivable and $350M of open account sales. This involves continuous investigation and research designed to assist in formulating credit objectives, policies, plans and programs to ensure positive contributions to economic earnings and increased shareholder net worth. Also continued sales growth and profitability. Alignment to meet emerging business needs, keeping customer focus in tandem with Marketing, Sales and Branch Operations.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the extension and administration of credit and collection to ensure compliance with company policy and legal statutes. The credit extension process may include local bank and trade references, prior history, sales recommendations, D&B reports, customer visits, and analysis of financial statements.
  • Manage exposure and mitigate risk for $350M of open account sales.
  • Authority to extend Credit Limits to a single customer to support ~$1M in annual sales.
  • Accountable for minimizing bad debt while not exceeding the corporate plan.
  • Perform Customer Hierarchy maintenance for medium to larger customers (including some complex customers).
  • Drive sales support and profitable revenue growth:
  • Support the Regional Credit Manager in engaging the Sales organization, internal business partners and Customers as a financial, business and problem-solving resource. Establish virtual relationships with the Sales organization, at all levels.
  • Deliver expert and excellent customer service
  • Responsible for consistency and efficiency throughout the entire region; lead the local activities of the regional Credit team and support development of individual responsibilities and strengths. Guide, encourage, and instruct the move toward greater empowerment.
  • Work to ensure the goals of the regional credit team are met, as well as the goals of the nationwide credit team, and those of the Company.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • 3+ years in finance, credit, collections, process resolution and/or related fields, preferred.
  • An understanding of business principals including accounting, credit and collections, financial statement analysis, banking and finance, commercial law, marketing, statistics, economics, human behavior and computer science.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of accounting (GAAP) and finance (FASB).
  • Premium value placed on ethics and integrity

  • Demonstrated writing/oral communication and presentation skills—effective across vertical/horizontal lines of organizational structures.

  • Able to work effectively with all levels of management, internal and external customers.
  • Memberships in Professional Organizations such as D&B, NACM, AMA, a benefit.
