You Will

The cost management and supplier collections supervisor will manage Grainger's global cost or supplier funds collection processes including supplier rebates, product returns and warranty. You will partner with leaders across the business to improve financial results through optimizing seamless customer-centric processes and creating accurate tracking & reporting for upstream & downstream partners. You will hire, and manage a team of analysts. You will report to the Manager of Cost Management and Execution.

Principal Responsibilities: -Lead a team of analysts focused on the execution of global cost or supplier funds collection processes.-Recruit, develop and motivate talent to ensure continued growth and improvement of overall team.-Monitor employee productivity and provide feedback to improve performance. Ensure the development of work with company and department goals. Organize work and ensure that employees understand their responsibilities and delegated tasks. Provide oversight and workflow approval for daily processes. Serve as the expert for end-to-end processes and technology and engage with internal partners and suppliers to educate and solve daily issues. Lead continuous improvement projects to promote process optimization and improved financial results. Support partners with projects.


  • Limited travel required (<10%) between Lake Forest, Chicago, Grainger Canada & Grainger Mexico office locations


  • Directly responsible for the financial results of the company by ensuring the execution of more than 1 million product cost changes annually. Scope of operations impacts more than $4B of sales annually.-Directly responsible for the financial results of the company by ensuring the collection of more than $400M across 4,000+ supplier contracts globally.-Position works with partners across the business to ensure maximized cost recovery and overall process efficiency.

  • Internal Partners --Supplier Management, Contracts, Pricing, Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Global Supply Chain, Legal, Sourcing, Operations, Grainger Subsidiaries
  • External Partners --Suppliers --Third-Party Vendors --External Auditors

You Have

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, finance, or accounting.
  • Previous exposure to product cost or pricing operations, collections processes and technology, and experience working with suppliers.
  • Technical Knowledge – understanding of corporate finance processes.
  • Report dashboards and Microsoft skills. Experience with corporate financial reports preferred.-Win as One Team – Demonstrated experience leading teams and projects.
