Position Details:

The Senior Engineer is involved in the full systems life cycle and responsible for designing, coding, configuring, testing, and implementing native mobile applications that are delivered on time and within budget.

You will work in a complex B2B E-commerce environment and use your experience with Swift and Objective-C to develop, test and deliver a mobile experience to Grainger's customers. Our mobile team is looking for a iOS engineer to enhance our iOS experience and align to our modernization roadmap.

  • Working with other iOS engineers, our business and UX partners to deliver features and enhancements for our customers
  • Focus on improving software quality by following best practices and establishing new techniques within the mobile team
  • Work on all aspects of mobile application delivery lifecycle from conception to release

You can be based in either remotely or in downtown Chicago Illinois and will report to the Manager, Mobile Applications.

 

You Have:

  • 5+ years developing native apps for Apple iOS devices using Swift and Objective-C
  • Production level experience with Swift UI and Combine is preferred
  • Experience conceptualizing and building application features geared towards a B2B or B2C customer.
  • Key Technologies / Framework: Swift, Objective-C, CI/CD tools (Bitbucket or Git, CircleCI, Fastlane), REST API consumption
  • Expertise with core iOS principles and frameworks, modern design patterns (MVC, MVVM, Coordinator, etc.), and Apple's Human Interface Guidelines
  • Working knowledge of implementing 3rd party frameworks using dependency managers (CocoaPods, Carthage, Swift Package Manager)
  • Experience delivering offline first capabilities in mobile apps
  • Experienced with Agile development methodologies and practices including unit testing and automated testing tools and techniques
  • Proficient with CI/CD practices within a team setting (Git, Fastlane, Circle-Ci)
