Position Details:

A Sr. Reporting Analyst implements reporting mechanisms and uses statistical and analytical tools to bring clarity to Grainger Merchandising and Supplier Management business operations. You will use their proficiency of data and systems to translate requests into accurate and useful information that creates improved service and reduced costs. Look for ways to improve the effectiveness of the department as our strategy evolves. You will report to the Manager, Business Intelligence.


You Will:

  • Create accurate tools and reports, cost-efficient manner and assist our partners in making informed decisions to manage supplier's performance.
  • Work with partners and teams to determine requirements for ad-hoc tools and reports, and then translate them into a final product that creates improved service and reduced costs.
  • Simplify, engineer, and re-engineer basic and complex reporting processes.
  • Develop experience of industry available tools for information and reporting design.
  • Prepare recommendations to solve ambiguous and complex issues.
  • Mentor end-users and team members on reporting techniques and system usage.
  • Be a liaison between business leaders and users in Grainger's Supplier Performance Management department and Grainger's Enterprise Systems organization.
  • Participate on teams and projects to ensure Supplier Performance Management processes, concerns, and business issues are addressed for increased productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction/service.


You Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree with Supply Chain or Information Systems focus with 5 years+ related experience in Software / Program development, data management and analytic reporting.
  • Have experience of the concepts and be advanced in the use of computerized data management systems including SAP, Business Objects, Terdata, Business Warehouse, SQL Server, Power Apps, Power BI and SharePoint design and programming.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft, Excel (can perform complex functions), and Access and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) and other reporting tools and interfaces.
