Position Details:

You will use analytics and data science applications to analyze the customer experience in digital channels, helping Grainger understand the functionality that creates value for the business.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics.




You Will:

  • Inform digital strategy, website development and digital technology investments through analytics and data science applications
  • Transform data into relevant recommendations and models. Present concise results
  • Work with a variety of team members to uncover insights from big data sources using advanced tools, methodologies, and algorithms
  • Use online and offline data to understand digital performance in context of the business
  • Profile and segment digital customers. Analyze purchase behavior and functionality usage through digital channels
  • Conduct analysis of text data to understand the relationship between Grainger's product assortment and user search queries
  • Guide profitable investments through the unbiased evaluation of financial impact of technology investments



You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, statistics, engineering, analytics, data science, economics).
  • 3+ years industry experience with an understanding of online customer behavior in the retail industry
  • 2+ years of experience analyzing large datasets in Python/R. Experience querying databases using SQL
  • Experience in statistical modeling and machine learning applications (regression, classification, clustering, or natural language processing)
  • Record of performing analyses to inform strategy
